Inspired by the great Olympic style of both Russians and American weight lifters, of the 50’s and 60’s, Gregory started lifting weights at fourteen. By sixteen, he became a competitive Olympic style weightlifter, competing through the 70’s and reached high ranks in the former Soviet Union.
